Used Electric Vehicle Batteries Reborn as Next-Generation Electric Mobility! 23-12-14

본문

The CTR Group is focusing on carbon neutrality, a crucial issue in the global electric vehicle (EV) industry related to environmental concerns and resource recycling. They have entered the post-use battery business as a new venture. Under the wing of CTR Eco, a division known as CIC (CTR Innovation Center), they are advancing this initiative. Their activities include developing prototype ultra-compact electric vehicles using post-use batteries and establishing the EV Resource Circulation Association. These efforts signify their progress in both technological development and establishing a foundation within the industry.

accelerating efforts in the electric vehicle (EV) waste battery business, the REBORN project, which began in September 2021, has successfully developed its first prototypes. These include a remanufactured battery pack and an electric micro-mobility prototype, both utilizing used EV batteries. This marks a significant milestone in the project, showcasing the potential for sustainable reuse of EV batteries in new and innovative applications.

in September, the ultra-compact electric cargo vehicle RB1, equipped with a repurposed battery pack, achieved impressive results in its driving test. It successfully met its targets: a turning radius of 5 meters, a climbing angle of 17%, a single-charge range of 120 km, and a top speed of 50 km/h. Remarkably, during the driving test, the vehicle exceeded its range goal by a significant margin, achieving 270 km on a single charge instead of the expected 120 km. Additionally, the vehicle was developed with a remote server setup that allows for real-time battery information and history storage, enabling efficient monitoring.

The REBORN project plans to take a significant step forward in December by signing a Letter Of Alliance (LOA) for the joint development of the REBORN 2.0 project, which aims to encompass both renewable energy and reused batteries. This agreement will be centered around key companies within the EV Resource Circulation Association. Through this collaboration, the project intends to develop new prototypes, expanding the scope and impact of its innovative efforts in sustainable energy and battery reuse.
