At CTR, quality is not just a result—it’s a culture built through everyday actions on the shop floor and strong execution at the team level.
From small on-site practices to organization-wide collaboration, everyone plays a role in making quality a shared value. At the center of this culture is CTR’s proprietary quality assessment system, CBIQ (CTR Built-In Quality).
What is CBIQ at CTR?
CBIQ is a unique quality evaluation system independently developed by CTR. First introduced in 2020, it has been conducted annually ever since. More than a scoring mechanism, CBIQ has evolved into a structured framework that strengthens on-site execution and enables proactive management of quality risks.
Covering the entire product lifecycle—from development and mass production to customer satisfaction processes—CBIQ is based on IATF 16949 standards as well as the requirements of global OEMs and major Tier 1 customers. The evaluation is conducted through a total of 327 detailed assessment items, including six development categories and nine mass production categories, ensuring a thorough and systematic review.
The assessment is carried out each year across CTR’s major production sites.
In 2025, the evaluated locations included Changwon, Masan, Daehap, Yeongsan, China, and the CTR E Miryang plant.
Among them, the CTR Changwon Plant achieved the highest score, ranking first with an overall score of 82.2 in the 2025 CBIQ evaluation. What made this outstanding performance possible?
First, a stable quality management system grounded in strict process compliance and strong on-site execution played a key role.
Second, compared to 2024, activities such as 5S and LPA (Layered Process Audits) were transformed from formal checklists into practical, team-based problem-solving initiatives aligned with the plant’s operational realities—earning high recognition.
Third, the active use of smart factory infrastructure stood out, linking real-time process monitoring with rapid response systems. The accumulated quality data was effectively utilized for root-cause analysis and decision-making.
Ultimately, it was the successful establishment of an execution-driven quality management culture that
defined CTR Changwon’s achievement.

Although the award ceremony itself was simple, consisting of a trophy presentation, it was a meaningful moment to recognize the relentless efforts and tangible improvements made on-site. Above all, the event
conveyed deep appreciation and respect for the people who truly create quality every day.
Looking ahead, CBIQ will continue to serve as a core pillar of CTR’s quality culture.
While maintaining the existing scoring framework, the system will expand into a risk-based evaluation model directly linked to the prevention of major claims. This evolution will allow quality assessments to function not only as post-issue reviews, but as proactive, preventive tools.
Once again, congratulations to the CTR Changwon Plant, selected as the 2025 Outstanding Site.
And to everyone striving each day on the front lines to build better quality together—your dedication does not go unnoticed.
