A heartwarming event took place in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, on a breezy autumn day, as CTR, in collaboration with Save the Children and Miryaang City,

celebrated the opening of its third “Safe Playground for Our Happy Children.”

The newly built “Wagle Wagle Kids Playground,” located in Sammun-dong’s 7th Children’s Park, was completed in September and had already been opened to local residents. The official opening ceremony was held on October 23.

The event was attended by Mr. Dong-Ok Lee, CEO of CTR, Mr. Byeong-Guk Ahn, Mayor of Miryang, Mr. Hong Hur, Chairman of the Miryang City Council, representatives from Save the Children, and children from the Kkureogi Community Child Center, making the occasion even more meaningful.

The name “Wagle Wagle Kids Playground” was chosen by children themselves. Child monitoring groups visited the construction site and participated in various stages of the process, ensuring that children’s voices were reflected in the space adding to its significance.

Since 2021, CTR Group has been partnering with Save the Children to renovate outdated or unsafe playgrounds into safe and enjoyable spaces where children can play with peace of mind.

Older playgrounds often pose safety risks or lack engaging facilities, causing children to quickly lose interest. This initiative aims to transform such places into safer and more exciting environments for play.

The Safe Playground project also focuses on communities where CTR operates its plants, creating safe play spaces for children and fostering mutual growth with local communities. The third playground was built in Miryang, where CTR EcoForging is located.

The opening ceremony featured welcome speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and various activity programs where children could explore the new playground including tag games, treasure hunts, and traditional Korean games such as jegichagi.

Even before the ceremony, the playground had already become a local ‘hotspot’ among children. On the day of the event, it was filled with laughter and excitement long before the program officially began truly living up to the name “Wagle Wagle.”

CTR also prepared snack packages for participating children, adding to the joyful atmosphere. After the activities, children were seen holding their snack bundles with bright smiles on their faces.

For children, running, jumping, and laughing with friends are essential moments of growth and everyday happiness. CTR’s playgrounds serve as a way to protect the “right to safe and free play.”

Though newly opened, the “Wagle Wagle Kids Playground” is already beginning to make a positive impact on children’s daily lives and creating opportunities for shared happiness within the local community.

CTR Group will continue to uphold its commitment as a company that grows together with the community.
